My love of photography goes back to high school when I used my grandmother's Canon to photograph the life and times of students for my school newspaper. In college, I took three photo journalism courses and realized how much I enjoyed not only photography but the post processing as well. It was a scary and exciting experience being in a pitch black dark room, taking the film out of your camera, making sure you rolled it exactly right onto the reel, and then sealing the film into a capsule before turning on any light in the room. It was rewarding to be able to control each photograph from the shooting, developing and printing process.
After graduating college, I abandoned my camera and went to work in sales where I met my husband. We moved from Dallas to Austin, renovated a 1950's home, and had our two beautiful children. Wanting to take great photos of my children and move into the digital age of photography, I took classes at the Daughtry Art Center. And then it hit me... I love taking pictures!! I couldn't get my kids to pose enough for me so I started taking photos of my friends, my family, and anyone that would get in front of the camera. After I was encouraged to take my love for photography professional, Marian Adrian Photography was created in Austin, TX. I have enjoyed being able to come into people's lives and document important and everyday moments that they will cherish for years to come.
